Privacy Policy
We are stardust is run by Agnes Becker as a sole trader in the UK. Your privacy is important to me, and in this privacy policy I explain what personal data I collect from you and how I use it. I encourage you to read this policy and contact me if you have any queries regarding the data I hold about you.
What personally identifiable information do I collect about you and how do I use it?
Website visitors
What data I collect and where it’s kept: When you visit www.wearestardust.uk (“the Site”), I collect your IP address and information regarding your location, web browser, time zone and some of the cookies installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. This data is collected and stored by Facebook, Google Analytics and Shopify.
Read about how Shopify collects this information using cookies, log files and web beacons in the ‘Tracking Technologies’ section of the Shopify privacy statement. Opt out of Cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and via the pop up on the Site.
Why I need it and how I use it: These data help Shopify screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and to improve and optimise the Site (for example, by generating analytics about how customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of marketing and advertising campaigns). This latter analysis is about general trends rather than you as an individual and, in the case of Google Analytics, your IP address is encoded and not visible to me. Read about how Google uses your personal information in Google’s privacy statement and how to opt out of Google Analytics tracking.
How long I keep it: Your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.
Customers
What data I collect and where it’s kept: When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase from www.wearestardust.uk, I collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit and debit card numbers, PayPal account details) and email address. This information will be held by Shopify. If you use Paypal to purchase a product, this information will also be held in Paypal. As I have Facebook Shop enabled, Facebook will also be able to access personally identifiable information about your customers, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, and geolocations.
Why I need it and how I use it: I need this information to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). I also use this information to screen orders for potential risk or fraud. I am unable to use Facebook Shop without agreeing to giving Facebook access to this information*.
How long I keep it: I am required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years. After this point your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.
Email subscribers
What data I collect and where it’s kept: I collect your name and email address when you opt in to my email list. This data is held in FloDesk. I also collect Cookies through FloDesk. By opting in to my email list you accept the FloDesk terms, which include the collection of Cookies. You can opt out of Cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and via the pop up on the Site.
Why I need it and how I use it: I use this information to let you know about products, announcements, events, blogs and information that is likely to be of interest to you – this is called ‘legitimate interest’. I use Cookies to understand how my marketing emails are working.
How long I keep it: Your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise. You can update your preferences via the link at the bottom of all email campaigns from we are stardust; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.
Sharing your data
Under no circumstances is your data ever sold or rented to a third party. I may share your data in the following circumstances:
- to service providers and affiliates (PayPal, postal delivery services) who assist in the delivery of my products.
- to third parties if I believe that disclosure is advisable or necessary to comply with the law or to protect the rights, property or safety of myself or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
How do I protect your information?
Reasonable security measures are in place to protect against any unauthorised access or damage to, or disclosure or loss of, your information kept by we are stardust and the service providers I use.
Access to your data and correction
You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you. If you would like a copy of the personal information I hold, please contact me. I want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Please contact me to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
Right to be forgotten
You also have the right to be forgotten, so you can contact me to request the data I hold be destroyed.
Security breach
All service providers that process the information I collect have procedures in place to notify me if there has been a security breach. If there is a breach that compromises the security of your information, I will notify you as soon as possible and let you know what is being done to rectify the situation.
Contact
For more information about my privacy practices, if you have questions, or if you would like to make a complaint, please contact me. If you are not satisfied with my response or believe I am processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

*I am less than thrilled about Facebook having access to your data. I have tried boycotting this option for as long as possible, however, without Facebook Shop I am unable to make my work easily accessible to people who follow me in Instagram. If you know of any ways round this, please contact me.
